BANGOR, Maine – After being robbed of a victory in his last outing, Ross Pearson wasn’t about to let another one of his fights go to the judge’s scorecards.
As a result, he stopped Gray Maynard with strikes in the second round of the UFC Fight Night 47 co-main event.
Pearson (16-7 MMA, 8-4 UFC), who suffered an extremely controversial split decision loss to Diego Sanchez in June, rebounded with a strong performance against Maynard (11-4-1 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC). The win improved Pearson’s record to 3-1 with one no-contest since returning to the lightweight division in December 2012.
The bout was the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 47 event at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. It aired on FOX Sports 1.
