UFC Fight Night 46 staff picks: Nelson, Parke unanimous; Pickett-McCall split

Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 46 main card nearly has three unanimous picks from the MMAjunkie staff.

In the main event, which streams on UFC Fight Pass from The O2 in Dublin, Conor McGregor (14-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is a heavy favorite to beat Diego Brandao (18-9 MMA, 4-2 UFC) in front of his home fans, who sold out the event in 25 minutes.

McGregor is the pick for seven of the eight MMAjunkie writers and radio hosts. Only one is picking Brandao to pull off the upset.

In the co-headliner, Gunnar Nelson (12-0-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC), a frequent training partner of McGregor, is a big favorite against Zak Cummings (17-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC). All eight of our pickers are siding with Iceland’s Nelson.

And in another unanimous pick, Norman Parke (19-2-1 MMA, 3-0-1 UFC), from Northern Ireland, is more than a 3-to-1 favorite against Naoyuki Kotani (33-10-7 MMA, 0-2 UFC) to open the main card.

But in a key flyweight fight on the main card, the staff is split down the middle on Ian McCall (12-4-1 MMA, 1-2-1 UFC) vs. Brad Pickett (24-8 MMA, 4-3 UFC).
