Official fighter weigh-ins for next week’s “UFC Fight Night 29: Maia vs. Shields” event are set for Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The same venue then hosts the following night’s UFC Fight Night 29 card, which features a welterweight headliner between jiu-jitsu ace Demian Maia (18-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC) and former Strikeforce middleweight champ Jake Shields (28-6-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC). In the co-main event, Korean veteran Dong Hyun Kim (17-2-1 MMA, 8-2 UFC) meets Brazilian prospect Erick Silva (15-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in a welterweight matchup.
The six-fight UFC Fight Night 29 main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following four prelims on FOX Sports 1 and one on Facebook.
The first fighter steps on the scale at 4 p.m. BRT local time (3 p.m. ET local time), and doors open to the public at 1:30 p.m. The weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
Prior to the weigh-ins, fans can attend a Q&A session with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and UFC interim bantamweight title holder Renan Barao. The Q&A, which starts at 2:30 p.m. BRT local time, is also open to the public.
