'UFC 189 Embedded,' No. 3: McGregor on 'Conan,' Mendes' new phone number

Next week is arguably the UFC’s biggest fight week of the year, which means the debut of “UFC 189 Embedded.”

The online series previews Saturday’s card at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, including the pay-per-view main event: an interim featherweight title bout between Conor McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and Chad Mendes (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC), who answered the call when champ Jose Aldo pulled out earlier this week with an injury. The series also focuses on the co-main event: welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (25-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC) vs. Rory MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC).

In the third episode, McGregor does a spot on “Conan,” and Mendes, prior to his cryotherapy chamber visit, explains how Chael Sonnen’s tweets forced him to get a new phone number.
