LOS ANGELES – Ronda Rousey extended her reign as UFC women’s bantamweight champion in characteristically dominant fashion, submitting Cat Zingano in 14 seconds to defend her title a fifth time.
Rousey (11-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC), 28, finished her opponent even faster than in her previous title defense, a 16-second railroading of Alexis Davis this past July. It was her 11th straight win and seventh via armbar, which she applied as Zingano (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) charged her in the opening seconds of UFC 184’s headliner.
The women’s bantamweight title bout was the main event of today’s UFC 184 event at Staples Center in Los Angeles. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
