Round 1: The two touch gloves to start the fight.  Patrick quickly works to get the fight to the ground.  Makdessi defends the attempt.  Patrick works for another takedown but Makdessi stuffs it.  Patrick misses with a spinning back fist.  He lands an inside leg kick.  Patrick misses with another spinning back fist.  Makdessi sees it coming and ducks under.  Patrick leaps in with a knee to the body.  He lands a left hand.  Makdessi slips but gets to his feet, but not before Patrick delivered a knee to the body.  Makdessi lands a right hand on the inside.  He goes to the body with a left hand.  Patrick powers forward and takes Makdessi down.  Makdessi quickly gets to his feet and Patrick presses him against the cage.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Patrick with the takedown and forward movement.

Round 2: They exchange leg kicks to start the round.  Patrick charges forward looking for a takedown, but Makdessi moves out of the way.  Makdessi delivers a side kick to the body.  Makdessi lands to the body with a left hand.  They clinch and Makdessi lands a right hand to the body and pushes Patrick away.  Patrick drives forward and secures a takedown.  Makdessi gets to his feet and they separate.  Patrick lands a left hand.  Patrick counters with a left hand.  Makdessi answers with an outside leg kick.  He delivers a spinning back kick to the body of Patrick.  He lands a stiff jab.  Makdessi moving forward.  He lands an outside leg kick.  They clinch momentarily before separating.  The round ends with Makdessi delivering a spinning kick to the body.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Makdessi.

Round 3: Makdessi lands a leg kick followed by a right hand that forces Patrick back.  Patrick lands a left hand and looks to take Makdessi down.  Makdessi pushes him to the side.  Patrick lands a left hand followed by an inside leg kick.  Makdessi answers with a leg kick of his own.  Patrick delivers a high kick.  Makdessi goes to the body with a left hand.  Patrick looks for a takeodown but Makdessi stuffs it and lands a jab.  Makdessi lands a kick that may have been to the groin.  Patrick falls down but gets back up.  Patrick lands a left hook and rushes in for a takedown.  They work for position along the cage.  The referee separates them.  Makdessi lands a counter left hand.  He goes to the body with a left.  Patrick moves in and Makdessi hits him with a combination.  The round ends.  Difficult fight to score.  Six fights in and six decisions.

The judges scored the fight for Patrick by unanimous decision.  The scorecards read 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27.
