UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2 Weigh-In Results

Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen at UFC 148 weigh-inLAS VEGAS – Only 24 hours separates UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva from facing arch enemy Chael Sonnen in the main event of UFC 148 after the official weigh-ins on Friday.

Everybody in attendance at the UFC 148 weigh-ins knew it was going to be intense, and as Anderson Silva literally shrugged his shoulder into Chael Sonnen after weighing in, the two fighters had to be separated.

Sonnen was his usual self after the weigh-ins were over offering up one final promotional push for what could be the biggest single fight in UFC history.

“Champion vs. icon. Myth vs. legend. Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen, the fake guy vs. the bad guy, and only on pay-per-view,” said Sonnen.

A visibly angered Anderson Silva spoke English to the Las Vegas crowd with his prediction for how it will go down on Saturday night.

“I don’t respect Chael, Chael don’t respect nothing, Chael don’t respect UFC, Chael not respect my country, tomorrow I come to fight,” Silva said with an underlying anger in his voice.

The rest of the card made weight as well with no issues including Tito Ortiz who wore a shirt that said ‘Thanks for everything UFC’ as he faced off for the last time ever with his retirement coming on Saturday night.
