UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz Official Weigh-in Results (UPDATED)

Former UFC light heavyweight champions Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz are heading for a showdown in a rematch of their July 2007 bout where they fought to a draw. The two fighters headline Saturday night’s UFC 133 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, but first they had to step on the scale at the venue on Friday afternoon.

All but one fight got the green light with five main card bouts on pay-per-view, two on Spike TV and Rogers Sportsnet, and four on the UFC’s Facebook page, if the one bout in question gets the nod.

Ortiz easily made weight at 205.8 pounds, as did Evans at 204.4 pounds. Both are former UFC light heavyweight champions.

Evans made his way to the scale under a shower of boos, but it didn’t seem to bother him.

“I know they love me though. I know every one ’em would want my autograph if I’m walking in the stands,” he told UFC broadcaster Joe Rogan after stepping off the scale.

“It’s been a long time, 14 months. I’ve just been working and getting better. I can’t wait to show the fans what I got.”

Ortiz took much the same posture, although he seems to be the fan favorite in this fight.

“I feel great. I’m excited to take this fight. Rashad, great fighter, but I’m gonna show how much better I am tomorrow night.”

Vitor Belfort and Yoshihiro Akiyama meet in the co-main event. Both easily made weight, but it was notable that Akiyama, from Japan, had handwritten across his torso “United We Stand Japan,” paying homage to his homeland, which has been rocked hard by the disastrous earthquakes and tsunami this year.

(UPDATE) The one fight in question was a bantamweight bout between Ivan Menjivar and Nick Pace. Menjivar weighed in at 138 pounds. With a one-pound allowance for non-title bouts, he was originally given two hours to drop the extra two pounds to make the 136-pound limit for the bout. Pace, however, later agreed to fight Menjivar at 138 pounds, according to UFC officials.
