UFC's Paige VanZant joins Season 22 of 'Dancing with the Stars'

UFC strawweight Paige VanZant is taking off her gloves and again putting on her dancing shoes.

The 21-year-old prospect has joined an athlete-filled cast for the 22nd season of “Dancing with the Stars,” officials recently announced.

The latest season of the long-running reality/competition show debuts March 21 on ABC.

Other MMA fighters, including Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell, have appeared on past seasons of the show, which debuted in 2005.

The Season 22 cast includes other athletes, notably current NFL players Von Miller and Antonio Brown, as well as former player Doug Flutie. Other confirmed cast members include Mischa Barton, Nyle DiMarco, Kim Fields, Marla Maples, Wanya Morris, Geraldo Rivera, Jodie Sweetin and Ginger Zee.

Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews host the show, and Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman return as judges.

VanZant (6-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC), a longtime dancer who often shows off her moves on social media, most recently fought in December, when she suffered a submission loss to Rose Namajunas. It halted a three-fight winning streak that had moved the heavily promoted fighter up the 115-pound ranks.

“Dancing with the Stars” runs through May, though VanZant could be eliminated before then. Regardless, she’s unlikely to be booked for a fight until her time on the show is over.
