Top Ten Women's Mixed Martial Arts Personalities to Follow on Twitter: A Fan's View (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

According to a Yahoo! Sports report, Gina Carano hasn't closed the door on her acting career despite the dismal box office earnings from her big-screen debut in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire.

"Whatever happens happens. I'd be stupid to say I wouldn't (act) again because I'd do it again a million times over," Carano told MMAWeekly.com, leaving her future, both in movies and fighting, wide open.

"I've already done so much now. I've added this movie to my life and I've had such a wonderful time in mixed martial arts. I'm not trying to be greedy and snatch up all the dreams, but I'm just gonna keep going forward and see what happens."

Carano (@ginacarano) is clearly the most popular women's MMA fighter on Twitter, as she has racked up over 73,000 followers since joining a short while back.

2) Ronda Rousey

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey is rapidly closing on in Carano's reign as the face of women's MMA, and some would say she has already taken that mantle.

Rousey, a former Olympic medalist in Judo, has taken the MMA world by storm with her dazzling armbar submissions, good looks and brash personality.

She submitted Miesha Tate in March for her eighth straight win, including five professional bouts and three at the amateur level.

Rousey is the current Strikeforce 135-pound champ. On March 19, she tweeted "Back to training…. Life is good :)." Follow her on Twitter @rondarousey.

3) Miesha Tate

Tate is one of the pioneers of social media use in women's MMA. She has effectively used Twitter to gain sponsorships, promote awareness of the sport and get her name into the mainstream.

She is one of the most active tweeters in the sport, as she has posted over 15,000 tweets in a two-year span.

Kaufman is making a name for herself with MMA fans for her unflappable willingness to scrap and trade punches to put on an exciting show.

I'm excited about Kaitlin Young's resurgence in the sport.
