Titan FC 28 card set with Raphael Davis-Jason Brilz in new main event

jason-brilz-2.jpgTitan Fighting Championship had to do some shuffling for its event later this month, but now has things back intact.

After Vinny Magalhaes had to pull out with a bad staph infection, Raphael Davis (13-2) has stepped up to meet Jason Brilz (21-5-1) in the main event of Titan FC 28. Although a precise bout order for the rest of the show has yet to be determined, the card is complete with 11 fights.

Another shuffle was made as D.J. Linderman (15-7) was moved to Titan FC 29 to take on the newly signed Walt Harris (5-3). That left Dave Herman (21-6) without an opponent, and UFC vet Kalib Starnes (16-8-1) was brought in for the matchup.

Titan FC 28 takes place April 25 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan. The venue also played host to Titan FC 27, which marked the organization’s debut on CBS Sports Network earlier this year. The main card again airs on CBS Sports Network, while prelims will stream at CBSSportsNetwork.com.

Brilz has won three straight fights since being released by the UFC after a three-fight skid that culminated in late 2011 with a 77-second knockout loss to Ryan Bader at UFC 139. Since then, he has three wins in his home base of Nebraska, including a pair for regional show Victory Fighting Championship.

Davis is a four-fight Bellator veteran whose only loss since 2006 was to Linderman in Bellator’s Season 4 heavyweight tournament. His resume includes wins over Magalhaes and current Bellator light heavyweight champion Emanuel Newton – he choked him out in 2009. Since his loss to Linderman, Davis has three straight knockout wins, though he fought just once in 2012 and once in 2013.

The complete Titan FC 28 card now includes:
