‘TUF Nations’ Finale Weigh-in Results: Michael Bisping, Tim Kennedy Cleared for Headliner

After months of back-and-forth banter, Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy can finally let their fists do the talking.

Bisping checked in at 186 pounds for his five-round showdown with Kennedy (186) in “The Ultimate Fighter Nations” Finale main event on Wednesday at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Welterweight co-headliners Kyle Noke (171) and Patrick Cote (170) -- the two men coached opposite one another on “The Ultimate Fighter Nations” -- also met their contracted weight requirements without issue at Tuesday’s official weigh-in.

Spawned by Season 3 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Bisping has compiled a 14-5 record since arriving in the Ultimate Fighting Championship in June 2006. The 35-year-old Englishman last fought at UFC 159 a little less than a year ago, when he took a technical unanimous decision from Alan Belcher at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. He has remained on the sidelines ever since, having undergone surgery for a detached retina. Wins over former World Extreme Cagefighting champion Brian Stann and onetime International Fight League titleholder Dan Miller anchor the Bisping resume.

Kennedy will enter the cage on the strength of a three-fight winning streak. The 34-year-old Jackson-Wink MMA representative last appeared at UFC Fight Night 31 in November, when he knocked out Rafael Natal at Fort Campbell in Hopkinsville, Ky. Kennedy has recorded nine victories in his past 12 outings, losing only to former Strikeforce champions Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo Souza. He has not been finished in more than a decade.

“The Ultimate Fighter Nations” Finale -- which airs live on Fox Sports 1 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT -- will also feature “The Ultimate Fighter Nations” middleweight final pairing Sheldon Westcott (184) with Elias Theodorou (185), “The Ultimate Fighter Nations” welterweight final pitting Chad Laprise (170) against Olivier Aubin-Mercier (169) and a featherweight scrap matching American Top Team’s Dustin Poirier (145) with Akira Corassani (145).

Two hours prior, Fox Sports 1 will also carry four preliminary matchups: Sam Stout (169) vs. K.J. Noons (168), Sarah Kaufman (135) vs. Leslie Smith (135), Ryan Jimmo (205) vs. Sean O’Connell (204) and George Roop (135) vs. Dustin Kimura (136). The four remaining undercard bouts will stream to UFC Fight Pass at 3:15 p.m. ET/12:15 p.m. PT, as Mark Bocek (156) faces Mike de la Torre (156), Nordine Taleb (185) meets Vik Grujic (186), Richard Walsh (171) battles Chris Indich (170) and Mitch Gagnon (135) confronts Tim Gorman (135).
