Strikeforce ‘Rockhold vs. Jardine’ Draws $68,805 Live Gate

Strikeforce “Rockhold vs. Jardine” earned a live gate of $68,805 and was attended by 1,992 spectators, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced Wednesday.

The Jan. 7 event, which took place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, sold 927 tickets. Meanwhile, 1,065 tickets were comped and 727 tickets remained unsold. NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer emailed the figures to Sherdog.com on Wednesday morning.

Including those who gained free admission to the event, the show netted an average of $34.54 per ticket. Excluding the comped spectators, the average price paid for a ticket was $74.22.

Airing on premium cable network Showtime, the evening’s main draw was headlined by a sharp performance from Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. The American Kickboxing Academy standout turned away onetime UFC staple Keith Jardine in the former light heavyweight’s 185-pound debut, finishing “The Dean of Mean” with a crisp punch combination against the cage in round one.
