The fighters for Friday night’s Strikeforce Challengers 13 weighed in Thursday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn. All 10 fighters easily made weight.
The Strikeforce Challengers 13 main event features two of the promotion’s top welterweight fighters in Tyron Woodley and Tarec Saffiedine. Both fighters stepped on the scale at 170.2 pounds. The winner of this one is likely to step into the upper echelon of the division, making his way nearer a title shot.
Ovince St. Preux is getting a fast start on 2011 after winning six straight fights in 2010. In his third fight in a month and a half, St. Preux, weighing in at 204.8 pounds, takes on Ron “Abongo” Humphrey, who weighed in at 205.4 pounds, in a light heavyweight feature bout on Showtime.
Daniel Cormier, who has been mentioned as a possible alternate in Strikeforce’s upcoming Heavyweight Grand Prix, first must get past former IFL fighter Devin Cole. Cormier stepped on the scale at 249 pounds, Cole at 239.2 pounds.
