So, how is two-division WSOF champ David Branch going to juggle both titles?

David Branch now holds titles in two of WSOF’s weight classes. So, how exactly is that going to work?

Branch (17-3) continued his dominant post-UFC run this past Friday at WSOF 23. In the NBCSN-televised co-headliner at Phoenix’s Comerica Theatre, he scored a first-round submission win over Teddy Holder (9-2) in the organization’s light-heavyweight tournament final to claim the inaugural belt and add to the middleweight title he won in 2014 (watch the Branch vs. Holder video highlights).

Branch, who’s won seven straight fights, is ranked No. 15 in the NOS Energy Drink MMA middleweight rankings, where he’s made one title defense, over vet Yushin Okami. His recent success has come in the 185-pound division, so what about that light-heavyweight title?

“I’m going to go back and forth and do both, and it just depends on how my body feels going up and down, but I’m definitely looking to stay at middleweight,” Branch, 33, said. “That’s my weight. That’s where I feel the fastest and strongest.

“Some of the 205-pounders in the world are really, really big guys. And I’m 6-1, probably like go in the cage 216, 217. Some of those guys come in there 230 – ripped up. I come in there a little dough-boy on me. I’m not too sure if I’m going to stay there too long, but I’m definitely going to take a few more fights to defend that title.”

Check out the above video as Branch discusses his belts, why his UFC run didn’t pan out like he hoped, and when he wants to return to the cage.
