Reminder: 'Countdown to UFC 164' premieres tonight at 10 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1

As a reminder, the UFC’s traditional pre-event show returns tonight with the debut of “Countdown to UFC 164: Henderson vs. Pettis 2? on FOX Sports 1.

The one-hour special previews this weekend’s headlining lightweight title fight between champion Benson Henderson (18-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and challenger Anthony Pettis (16-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC).

“Countdown” airs at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT), and replays air throughout the week on FOX Sports 2, as well as on regional FOX Sports Net affiliates.

UFC 164 takes place Saturday at Milwaukee’s Bradley Center. The main card, including the Henderson-Pettis rematch from their initial WEC 53 meeting, airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and Facebook. An extended video preview of the event can be found above.

Henderson and Pettis have history. “Showtime” scored a unanimous decision win over Henderson at the WEC’s final event in December 2011 to win the promotion’s final lightweight title. But Henderson hasn’t lost since then and has reeled off seven straight wins in the UFC. He won the UFC lightweight title in 2012 and has already racked up three successful title defenses.

Pettis lost his UFC debut but has rebounded with three straight wins, including back-to-back “Knockout of the Night” victories over Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon.

After deciding to drop to featherweight and getting an immediate title shot against Jose Aldo at UFC 163, he was forced out of that fight with an injury. But he was healthy enough to replace injured T.J. Grant to get the UFC 164 slot, which takes place in front of his hometown Milwaukee fans.

The full UFC 164 card includes:

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook, 6:30 p.m. ET)
