Radio (3 p.m. ET): Bellator 'Rampage'-Ortiz call, Joe Lauzon, Gesias Cavalcante

joe-lauzon-14.jpgMMAjunkie.com Radio today welcomes to the show Joe Lauzon and Gesias Cavalcante after hosting a live stream of the Bellator MMA media conference call for November’s pay-per-view. The two and a half hour show starts at a special time of 3 p.m. ET (noon PT).

The media call will feature Bellator 106 headliners Quinton Jackson and Tito Ortiz. “Rampage” and Ortiz each are former UFC light heavyweight champions who left that organization in the past year – Ortiz through retirement and Jackson to sign with Bellator. This past week, Jackson and Bellator made a surprise announcement that Ortiz had signed with the promotion to return from retirement to fight Jackson, a friend and sometimes training partner. The two will meet in the main event of Bellator’s first pay-per-view, and we’ll stream the call with the two fighters and CEO Bjorn Rebney.

After the call, the fellas will talk to Lauzon, who returns to action next week at UFC Fight Night 26 in Boston, the promotion’s debut on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network. Lauzon, a Boston-area native and resident, will open up the main card against Michael Johnson. and “JZ” Cavalcante will call in to talk about his fight against Tyson Griffin at World Series of Fighting 4.
