Patrick Cummins (6-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will welcome “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3? heavyweight winner Antonio Carlos Junior (4-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) to the UFC’s heavyweight division.
UFC officials recently announced the fight will be part of UFC Fight Night 58.
UFC Fight Night 58, which features a C.B. Dollaway vs. Lyoto Machida headliner, takes place Dec. 20 at Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil. FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass are expected to carry the card.
After a late-notice loss to standout Daniel Cormier in his UFC debut earlier this year, Cummins has since rebounded with a TKO win over Roger Narvaez and a dominant decision victory (30-27, 30-25, 30-24) over Kyle Kingsbury. The 33-year-old former collegiate wrestler will fight for the fourth time in 2014 after previously struggling to find opponents outside the UFC.
Carlos Junior, meanwhile, won “TUF: Brazil 3? with a unanimous-decision win over Vitor Miranda in May. The 24-year-old Brazilian, which advanced to the tournament final with a first-round stoppage wins, had won his three previous pro bouts via submission.
