Michael McDonald Expresses a Wealth of Knowledge that Belies His Years

Michael McDonald 724 UFC 139-478x270Twenty-two-year-old UFC bantamweight Michael McDonald has already made a name for himself in the MMA community despite his youthful age.  Debuting for the company at ripe old age of 20, McDonald earned a bantamweight title shot against Renan Barao back in February after just four victories within the promotion.

McDonald lost his title tilt against the Brazilian and now finds himself trying to get back on the winning track at UFC on FOX 9 against MMA pioneer Urijah Faber.

In this exclusive interview with MMAweekly’s Ryan McKinnell, “Mayday” talks about battling his Northern Californian brethren and what problems the “California Kid” possesses going forward.

McDonald also elaborates on one of his favorite hobbies, and how it directly correlates to the fist-fighting business. The young bantamweight also discusses what he thinks are some of the lost “arts” in today’s MMA, and what he does as a “new breed” of fighter to keep ahead of the curve.
