Having struggled to find their footing in recent bouts, Matt Brown and Tarec Saffiedine will square off at UFC 207 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas. UFC officials announced the bout on Tuesday.
UFC 207 is a rare Friday night pay-per-view for the fight promotion. It features a headlining bout between UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, as she welcomes former titleholder Ronda Rousey back to the Octagon.
A former Strikeforce welterweight champion, Saffiedine (16-5) has yet to leave his mark on the UFC. In his nearly three years in the Octagon, Saffiedine has gone just 2-2. He enters the fight at UFC 207 coming off of a decision loss to Rick Story in May.

From 2012 to 2014, Brown (20-15) was the fastest rising contender in the welterweight division. After losing a title eliminator to Robbie Lawler, he hasn’t been the same, going 1-4 in his last five fights. He’ll try to get back on track against Saffiedine.
