UFC officials Thursday announced the booking, which takes place at San Antonio’s AT&T Center and precedes a featherweight main event pitting Cub Swanson against Jeremy Stephens. The UFC Fight Night event is expected to air live on Fox Sports 1.
Hamilton rides a six-fight winning streak into his UFC foray, capturing the MFC heavyweight title last October with a second-round knockout of Smealinho Rama. The Jackson’s MMA rep then defended the belt successfully against “Ultimate Fighter 10” alum Darrill Schoonover, outpointing “The Boss” this past January at MFC 39.
Oleinik has not lost since 2012, when he dropped a split decision to ex-UFC title contender Jeff Monson. “The Boa Constrictor” rebounded with six straight victories before avenging his defeat to “The Snowman” with a second-round submission last summer. More recently, the 36-year-old posted his ninth straight win last November, tapping Mirko Filipovic with a neck crank under Russia’s Legend banner.
