Lineup complete for 'ONE FC 16: Honor & Glory' with addition of three more fights

one-fc-16-posterThree new bouts now are official for next month’s “ONE FC 16: Honor & Glory” event, including the co-main event.

Vincent Latoel (14-14-2) will meet Eddie Ng (7-1) in the lightweight co-feature, former ONE FC featherweight champion Honorio Banario (8-3) takes on Jadamba Narantungalag (8-3), and featherweight prospects Major Overall (4-1) and Bruno Pucci (3-0) will meet. ONE FC officials announced the card’s final three bouts overnight.

ONE FC 16 takes place May 30 at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. The event streams as an online pay-per-view in North America and features a welterweight headliner between former Bellator MMA champion Ben Askren (12-0) and Bakhtiyar Abbasov (11-2).

Latoel, a highly regarded kickboxer, will be looking for his second win under the ONE FC banner. He submitted Willy Ni at ONE FC 10 this past September, but in December he dropped a decision to Eduard Folayang at ONE FC 13. The Dutchman, who trains with the Golden Glory team in Holland, has dropped three of his past four MMA fights and has just three wins in his past 11 bouts.

Ng will bring a five-fight winning streak into the fight with Latoel, including four straight for ONE FC – all stoppages. At ONE FC’s debut event, he knocked out Chunbo Yuan in 45 seconds. He followed that up with a 43-second TKO stoppage of Jian Kai Chee at ONE FC 3. After a little more than a year off, he had back-to-back armbar wins in 2013, stopping Arnaud Lepont at ONE FC 8 and Peter Davis at ONE FC 11. He may have his eyes on another submission against Latoel, considering 12 of his opponent’s 14 losses have come by tapout.

Banario will be looking to get back on track after back-to-back knockout losses to Koji Oishi at ONE FC 9 and ONE FC 13 this past year. Both bouts were ONE FC featherweight title fights. Narantungalag, from Mongolia, will make his promotional debut looking to get back in the win column after a loss a year ago to Koji Ando thanks to an ankle injury. Prior to that, he had eight straight wins after starting his career 0-2.

Overall returns to ONE FC for the first time in more than two years. At ONE FC 3, he dropped the first fight of his career when he was choked out by Kim Hock Quek. Since then, the Asia-based American has back-to-back submission wins. Pucci, a Brazilian who trains at the highly regarded Evolve MMA in Singapore, looks to stay unbeaten after a submission win over Bashir Ahmad at ONE FC 10 this past September. All three of his pro wins have been by rear-naked choke.

The complete ONE FC 16 card now includes:

  • Bakhtiyar Abbasov vs. Ben Askren
  • Vincent Latoel vs. Eddie Ng
  • Honorio Banario vs. Jadamba Narantungalag
  • Caros Fodor vs. Willy Ni
