After his UFC debut was canceled when his opponent pulled out at the last minute, Joe Ellenberger will get his shot in the Octagon this June in San Antonio.
UFC officials announced late Monday evening that Ellenberger will face Francisco Trevino in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night 44 on June 28.
Ellenberger (14-1), brother to UFC contender Jake Ellenberger, prepares to make his Octagon debut while on a two-fight win streak. The only loss Ellenberger has on his record belongs to fellow UFC lightweight Justin Salas.
Trevino (12-0) comes into the fight with an unblemished record and fresh off a win in his UFC debut. As part of the UFC 171 undercard, Trevino went 15 minutes with Renee Forte to earn a unanimous-decision win.
UFC Fight Night 44 is tabbed to be headlined by a fight between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.
