Joe Ellenberger Twitter 4-fight dealLightweight Joe Ellenberger will make his promotional debut at UFC 172 against Yancy Medeiros. He’ll join his twin brother, UFC welterweight Jake Ellenberger, on the April 26 fight card. The heavier Ellenberger faces Tarac Saffiedine.

UFC officials announced the match-up on Monday.

Ellenberger (14-1) hasn’t fought in more than a year, but is riding a two-fight winning streak. The Nebraska native made his professional debut in 2005 and has fought in Midwest promotions like Titan Fighting Championship and Victory Fighting Championship.

Medeiros (10-1) made his way to the UFC through the Strikeforce promotion. He made his Octagon debut in April 2013, losing to Rustam Khabilov due to injury. He bounced back from his first career loss with a knockout win over Yves Edwards in November.

UFC 172 takes place on April 26 at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore. Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones puts his title on the line against challenger Glover Teixeira in the main event.
