Jim Miller vs. Fabricio Camoes joins year-end UFC 168 event

jim-miller-16.jpgA lightweight bout between Jim Miller (22-4 MMA, 11-3 UFC) and Fabricio Camoes (14-7-1 MMA, 1-2-1 UFC) is the latest addition to the year-end UFC 168 event in Sin City.

UFC officials today announced the bout.

UFC 168 takes place Dec. 28 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It’s not known if the bout will serve on the pay-per-view main card or on the prelims, which air on FOX Sports 1 and stream on Facebook.

Although Camoes is out of the top 15, Miller is ranked No. 11 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie.com MMA lightweight rankings.

Miller looks to get back to top-contender status. In early 2011, the New Jersey-based wrestler and jiu-jitsu black belt was riding a seven-fight UFC winning streak. But he then suffered a loss to Benson Henderson and is 2-2 (with one no-contest) in his past five fights. He would be 2-3 if a UFC 159 submission loss wasn’t overturned because opponent Pat Healy failed a drug test due to marijuana.

Camoes, meanwhile, was on a three-fight winning streak (and an overall 10-1-1 run) before a decision loss to Melvin Guillard at UFC 148. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, who’s currently in his second UFC stint, has been on the sidelines since that July 2012 fight.
