He said what?!? UFC Fight Night 57's Bobby Green, uncut, on walking away from MMA

HORSESHOE BAY, Texas – Bobby Green started out with a “no comment” reply. Twenty minutes later, he had commented on just about everything.

Green (23-5 MMA, 4-0 UFC) competes in the co-main event of Saturday’s “UFC Fight Night 57: Edgar vs. Swanson” card, where he faces Edson Barboza (14-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The six-fight main card airs on FOX Sports 1 (10 p.m. ET) following four additional prelims on the channel (8 p.m. ET) and two fights on UFC Fight Pass (7 p.m. ET).

It’s a unique time for Green, who after nearly 30 professional contests is enjoying the most notoriety of his fighting career. Yet earlier this week, Green took to Facebook to admit he’s contemplating retirement after this appearance, win or lose.

Green spoke with MMAjunkie today for nearly 20 minutes, and while he didn’t initially want to discuss why he was considering retirement, he quickly opened up on his frustration with the public’s perception of his attitude, how the media can play a major role in the way fighters are received and why he’ll have no regrets if he does decide to call it a career.
