A light heavyweight scrap between Glover Teixeira and Ovince St. Preux will go down at the UFC Fight Night card on Aug. 8 in Nashville, Tenn.
The bout will headline the event, which is booked to take place at the city’s Bridgestone Arena. “UFC Tonight” first reported the news of the match-up.
Teixeira (22-4) is eager to get a win, currently dealing with the first losing streak of his career. In his last bout, the Brazilian standout lost a unanimous decision to Phil Davis at UFC 179. His loss before that was a failed title bid against former division champ Jon Jones.
St. Preux (18-6) is on the upswing, winning his last two outings. He recently knocked out Patrick Cummins UFC on FOX 15, but his biggest win came in the fight before, a knockout of former light heavyweight champ Shogun Rua at a UFC Fight Night card in November of 2014.
The Teixeira-St. Preux showdown is just one of many fights expected to be announced for the UFC Nashville card in the coming weeks.
