Georges St-Pierre Prepared for a Well Rounded Hendricks at UFC 167

Georges-St-Pierre-UFC-Expo-2013UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is expecting a well rounded performance from Johny Hendricks when the pair step into the Octagon on Saturday night at UFC 167 in Las Vegas, but concedes that it could end up being a slug fest on the feet with both fighters having strong wrestling credentials.

“I believe I’m going to get hit in this fight and I’m ready for it. I’m not scared of it,” St-Pierre told MMAWeekly.com. “I believe it is most likely that chances are that, yes, I’m going to get hit. If you get hit and you’re scared that’s when you take all the impact and you have to be ready for it.

“?Johny is a very well rounded fighter and he’s got a lot more than this. He’s got a great right hook as well and an uppercut, knees, great double leg. He’s very well rounded. I prepared very well for what I believe is coming for the fight and of course people talk about his left hand, but I don’t only focus on that.”

While retirement rumors linger over St-Pierre heading into the fight, the UFC champion is confident that all the work has been done to ready himself for his ninth title defense relating it to studying for an exam at school.

“?It’s like an exam,” he continued. “When you’re at school and if you study very well for your exam you’re going to be very confident and I studied very well for this fight. I study every day, everything I did. Everything I had to do. Work very hard and bring all the training partner and good sparing. Good technique. So I’m very confident.”
