“UFC Primetime” returned Wednesday with the first installment previewing “UFC 166: Velasquez vs. dos Santos III.”
Wednesday’s episode, the first in a three-part series that airs weekly, goes inside the lives of heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (12-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) and fellow UFC 166 headliner Junior dos Santos (16-2 MMA, 10-1 UFC). The two big men fight Oct. 19 on pay-per-view at Houston’s Toyota Center.
The “UFC Primetime” opener talks about the past bouts that led to the fighters’ trilogy fight, Velasquez’s place in Mexican fighting history, and dos Santos’ quest for pride and payback after the second Velasquez fight. The half-hour show also discusses dos Santos’ medical condition, Daniel Cormier‘s role in Velasquez’s training camp and more.
