The cluttered UFC lightweight division is a brutal place to work following the integration of the WEC roster. Inevitably there will be cuts based on performance and results.
The latest lightweight to be released is British Rough House fighter Andre Winner who exits the promotion following his loss to Anthony Njokuani at UFC 132 – it marks his third in a row.
Winner emerged from the British scene with a record of 9-2-1 having been a staple in the Cage Warriors promotion and now defunct FX3 and Cage Rage shows.
His striking prowess landed him a slot on “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 9, where he made it to the finals before succumbing to teammate Ross Pearson.
Since the show, he has accrued a 2-3 record in the Octagon.
