Following their debut show in Singapore this weekend, One FC is close to adding new talent to their roster to bolster their growing hold in the Asian market.
While neither signing has been confirmed by One FC, MMAWeekly.com sources indicated that both Gono and Tirta attended the inaugural show in Singapore and have been in conversation with CEO Victor Cui.
It’s likely both could end up on the promoton’s roster.
Akihiro Gono has experienced his fair share of ups and downs over the years.
A multi-time veteran of both the UFC and Pride, Gono has fought some of the toughest talent in MMA, and for his career has a 32-16-7 record.
Gono hasn’t fought since August 2010, but will hope to get his career back on track when he fights for One FC next. Gono attended the first One FC event over the weekend as a guest of CEO Victor Cui.
Also expected to sign with the promotion is rising featherweight prospect Fransimo Tirta.
Tirta has a 10-0-1 record and is a fast rising commodity overseas, and will be a good addition to the One FC roster.
While no details have surfaced when One FC will hold their second show, CEO Victor Cui told MMAWeekly.com that plans have been made for their next 8 cards, but details weren’t available yet as to when or where they would be held.
