Fans invited to multitude of events for this week's UFC 184 in Los Angeles


The UFC returns to the “City of Angels” this week, and fans will have plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal to their favorite UFC fighters.

UFC 184 takes place Saturday and airs on pay-per-view, FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass from Staples Center in Los Angeles. The main event is a women’s bantamweight title fight between champion Ronda Rousey and top contender Cat Zingano.

On Wednesday, fans can attend the open workouts not just Rousey and Zingano, but co-main event fighters Holly Holm and Raquel Pennington. In addition, the four fighters atop the Invicta FC 11 bill, which takes place Friday night in Los Angeles, will go through workouts for fans.

The open workouts take place at UFC Gym in Torrance, Calif., at 19800 Hawthorne Blvd. #420. Invicta FC 11 fighters will be up first, in 15-minute blocks, starting with Charmaine Tweet at 11 a.m. PT local time Wednesday, then Alexa Grasso, Irene Aldana and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. At 1 p.m., Zingano works out, followed by Pennington, Holm and Rousey.

On Thursday, fans can attend the UFC 184 “Ultimate Media Day,” which takes place at Club Nokia at L.A. Live, 800 W. Olympic Blvd. in Los Angeles. Doors open to the public at 12:30 p.m. PT, and the fighters from the main card will meet the media at 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. ET, UFC President Dana White will square the fighters off for the media.

Fighters scheduled to attend include Rousey, Zingano, Pennington, Holm, Jake Ellenberger, Josh Koscheck, Alan Jouban, Richard Walsh, Tony Ferguson and Gleison Tibau.

Friday’s weigh-ins will take place at the Event Deck at L.A. Live, 1005 Chick Hearn Court in Los Angeles, at 4 p.m. PT. Ahead of the weigh-ins, upcoming light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Johnson will host a Q&A session for UFC Fight Club members at 2 p.m. PT. Doors open to the public for the weigh-ins at 3 p.m.

And on Saturday, the UFC hosts a special “Welcome to the Show” launch event, also at the Event Deck at L.A. Live. At 11 a.m. PT, the headliners from a host of upcoming UFC cards will be on hand to meet the media and fans, including lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and challenger Rafael dos Anjos; women’s strawweight champ Carla Esparza and challenger Joanna Jedrzejczyk; Demian Maia and Ryan LaFlare; Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas; Lyoto Machida and Luke Rockhold; bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and challenger Renan Barao; flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson and challenger Kyoji Horiguchi; Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber; light heavyweight champ Jon Jones and Johnson; and middleweight champ Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort.

In addition, the UFC will set up a “Fan Village” on Saturday at L.A. Live, featuring fighter autograph signings, photo stations, a Bud Light beer garden, sponsor tents and giveaways, merchandise booths and more. At noon, UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes and Jessica Eye, as well as Octagon Girl Arianny Celeste, will sign autographs. And at 2 p.m., Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell and Felice Herrig will be available for the same.
