An injury has forced lightweight Evan Dunham out of his scheduled fight against George Sotiropoulos at UFC 132 in July.

Sources close to the Las Vegas based fighter confirmed his withdrawal to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday. MMAJunkie.com first reported the injury.

The nature of the ailment that forced Dunham out is unknown at this time, but with the fight still two months away, it’s likely something that will put him out of training for at least a few weeks.

Dunham was heading into UFC 132 after suffering back-to-back losses in his last two fights, albeit one a very controversial decision defeat to former lightweight champion Sean Sherk.

His initial opponent, George Sotiropoulos, is expected to remain on the July card against a different fighter, but no formal announcement has been made just yet.

MMAWeekly.com will have more information on Sotiropoulos’ new opponent when it becomes available.
