Dana White says Georges St-Pierre is coming back, but should he?

DALLAS – When UFC President Dana White reflected on Georges St-Pierre‘s potential return to the promotion, he made sure to use the word “when” and not “if.” But even if White is certain St-Pierre will return, should the future UFC Hall of Famer even bother?

There’s no question part of the excitement surrounding this weekend’s UFC 171 event in Dallas centers squarely on the fact that St-Pierre’s dominant reign is over and a new champion will reside over the promotion’s welterweight division for the first time since 2008.

So with the UFC’s 170-pound division as exciting as ever – and with St-Pierre’s financial future seemingly sound – is there any reason for the French-Canadian superstar to target a return to fighting?

A host of MMA notables, including Carlos Condit, Myles Jury, Mike Dolce, Jake Shields and Matt Hughes, offer their opinion in the video above.

“UFC 171: Hendricks vs. Lawler” takes place Saturday night at Dallas’ American Airlines Center. The night’s main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass.
