Dana White: I Would 'Easily' Beat Tito Ortiz in a Boxing Match

Dana White: I Would 'Easily' Beat Tito Ortiz in a Boxing Match

Looks like the latest chapter in the ongoing feud between UFC President Dana White and company Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz has been written in the past couple of days.

After UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recorded his 14th win under the UFC banner against Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 on Saturday, the promotion declared him the winningest 205-pounder in history.

That didn't sit well with Ortiz, who actually has 15 UFC victories under his belt.

While White didn't directly address the situation, he had no problem taking a shot at the self-proclaimed "People's Champion" when a fan brought his name into the equation on Twitter (language NSFW).

f--k that s--t!!! I'm straight up about that, Tito would kill me in a grappling/MMA fight. I will Box Tito and win EASILY.

Believe it or not, White and Ortiz were scheduled to square off in an exhibition boxing match back in March 2007, but the bout was called off when Ortiz did not show up for weigh-ins, per MMA Junkie

White revisited the situation as recently as January, stating that Ortiz bailed because "he was going to get his ass whooped on national television," per MMA Fighting

Once one of the most dominant champions competing inside the Octagon, Ortiz posted a horrid 1-7-1 record in his last nine fights before retiring in July 2012.

However, one year later, he signed a deal with rival promotion Bellator and is set to make his company debut at the promotion's inaugural pay-per-view event May 17.

Middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko called out Ortiz for the event and has agreed to bump up to 205 pounds for the matchup.

Surprising, Ortiz has yet to respond to White's tweet from Monday morning.
