April’s UFC Fight Night 86 event in Croatia has a new heavyweight matchup.
Cyril Asker (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Jared Cannonier (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) are slated to fight at the event, officials today announced.
UFC Fight Night 86 takes place April 10 at Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia. It airs on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. The bout order hasn’t been finalized.
Asker makes his promotional debut after a recent run with the South Africa-based Extreme Fighting Championship. There, the 30-year-old has gone 3-0 to push his current winning streak to five fights. Four of the Frenchman’s victories, including one over former UFC fighter Ruan Potts, have come via first-round stoppage.
Cannonier, meanwhile, recently made his UFC debut after going 7-0 with five first-round stoppages on Alaska’s regional circuit. However, in his first UFC fight, the 31-year-old “Killa Gorilla” suffered a knockout loss to Shawn Jordan.
