UFC officials announced the pairing on Sunday. No headliner has been revealed for the event, which takes place at U.S. Bank Arena. The card also includes a featherweight matchup pitting Nik Lentz against Manny Gamburyan.
After a five-fight winning streak had him in the middleweight Top 10, Philippou has dropped two straight bouts, falling to Francis Carmont via decision last September before suffering a first-round knockout loss to Luke Rockhold at UFC Fight Night 35. The 34-year-old Ring of Combat veteran is 5-3 in the Octagon overall.
Larkin, meanwhile, is 1-2 since transitioning to the Las Vegas-based promotion from Strikeforce. He debuted with a controversial decision loss to Carmont before outpointing Chris Camozzi at UFC Fight Night 31. Most recently, “Monsoon” was outpointed by Brad Tavares on Jan. 15.
