Cosmo Alexandre makes promotional debut vs. Anselmo Luna at Legacy FC 28

Highly touted kickboxer Cosmo Alexandre now has his opponent for his Legacy Fighting Championship debut.

Alexandre (5-1) will fight for the first time since leaving Bellator MMA when he meets Anselmo Luna (9-4) at Legacy FC 28 next month in Texas. Promoter/owner Mick Maynard confirmed the matchup to MMAjunkie.

Legacy FC 28 takes place Feb. 21 at the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio. The main card for the event airs on AXS TV. In addition to the Alexandre-Luna fight, the promotion confirmed the bulk of the rest of the card to MMAjunkie, as well.

Alexandre lost his pro MMA debut to Josh Quayhagen at Bellator 52, but then went on a five-fight winning streak for the promotion. He capped that run off by avenging his loss to Quayhagen at Bellator 80 in November 2012. But he’s been out of action since then. Now the Blackzilians-trained lightweight from Brazil will return against Luna.

Luna has won back-to-back fights, including his promotional debut at Legacy FC 22 in August. He has won five of his past seven fights, and has an equal mix of knockouts, submissions and decisions at three each.

Legacy FC 28 features a main-event middleweight title fight between champion William Bush (6-2) and challenger Roger Navarez (6-0). Also on the card, Damon Jackson (7-0) takes on Hunter Tucker (6-1) in a featherweight bout in the co-feature. And UFC and WEC veteran Damacio Page (16-9) returns to meet Matthew Lozano (4-1).
