UFC officials recently announced the bookings, which take place at the TD Garden in Boston. UFC on Fox Sports 1 will also feature a heavyweight collision between former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem and Travis Browne, as well as a 170-pound showdown pitting Matt Browne against ex-UFC title contender Thiago Alves.
McGregor, 24, has won nine straight fights, capturing the Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight titles in the United Kingdom before joining the UFC earlier this year. The Irishman impressed in his Octagon debut, stopping “TUF 14” vet Marcus Brimage with punches in just 67 seconds.
A “TUF 15” alum, Ogle now looks to succeed where Brimage failed. Though the 24-year-old was edged by Corassani in his UFC foray last September, “The Little Axe” responded with a victory in his most recent outing, outpointing Josh Grispi in a unanimous decision at UFC on Fuel TV 7.
Brown, 37, has not competed in more than a year, though he will ride a small winning streak into his clash with Corassani, having outpointed Nam Phan and Daniel Pineda in his last two fights. A veteran of 34 pro bouts, the former WEC champion owns 13 of his career victories by way of submission.
Corassani, meanwhile, has won six of his last seven and has not lost since joining the UFC at the conclusion of his “TUF 14” stint. After outpointing Ogle in a split decision last year, the Swede was also victorious in his most recent effort, taking a unanimous verdict from Robbie Peralta on April 6 at UFC on Fuel TV 9.
