Cage Warriors 60's Bola Omoyele: 'Either I stop you or you stop me'

bola-omoyele.jpgWith his second consecutive Cage Warriors main card bout just around the corner, Bola Omoyele knows he has the responsibility of not just getting the win, but also sending the fans home buzzing about his fight – win or lose.

“It’s a fight and I like to give the fans what they pay their money for to come watch,” Omoyele told MMAjunkie.com Radio. “I don’t mind going three rounds, but I want to get this job over and done with, and that’s what the fans pay their money for.”

Thus far, Omoyele (7-1) has done a good job of satisfying spectators as he has yet to go the distance and has finished his opponent by knockout or submission in all seven of his career victories.

Some fighters are content with battling it out with their opponent over the course of 15 or 25 minutes, but that’s not Omoyele’s style.

The Englishman is not one to dilly dally once the cage door closes, and whether it’s him or his opponent who goes down, he doesn’t ever want to be in a fight decided by the judges.

“I like to bring it,” Omoyele said. “I prefer to stop you. I’m there to stop you – and either I stop you or you stop me.”

While Omoyele may enter the cage with a “kill or be killed” mentality, he’s also aware it takes two to tango in a fight. Luckily, his Cage Warriors 60 opponent, Aaron Wilkinson, is known for his finishing ability, as well.

With eight stoppages in 10 career wins, Wilkinson (10-6) is more than capable of putting fighters away. Omoyele believes that aggressive style of fighting will only bring out his best.

“When I fight someone explosive, it brings me out more, brings my character out, makes me want to fight more rather than fighting people who just go with the flow sort of thing,” Omoyele said. “I like when people put it on me. It brings out the fighter in me more rather than just sit back and wait.”

In his Cage Warriors debut this past July, Omoyele knocked out Vincent del Guerra for his sixth consecutive victory, all in the first round.

To maintain the streak, the 31-year-old said he must remain focused at all times, which means taking his career one task at a time until he reaches the top of the ladder.

“I’m definitely not one to look past my opponent no matter who I’m fighting,” Omoyele said. “I want to put on shows for the next four fights that I’ve got contracted with them. I want to pay my dues.”

Cage Warriors 60 takes place at The Forum in London. The main card, which includes a single-night lightweight tourney final as well as Omoyele-Wilkinson, streams live in North America on MMAjunkie.com following Facebook prelims. The main-card stream kicks off at 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT).
