Cage Warriors 58 weigh-in results: Halmi, Isaev hit marks

beslan-isaev-viktor-halmi.jpgCage Warriors’ first visit to Chechnya now is official with all 22 fighters on the card on weight for their Saturday fights.

Cage Warriors 58 takes place at Olympisk Arena in Grozny, Chechnya’s capital city. The seven-fight main card streams live in North America at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT) at MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). International viewers can watch the fights at www.cagewarriors.tv. A four-fight preliminary card streams on Cage Warriors’ Facebook page at 11:45 a.m. ET.

Main-event welterweights Viktor Halmi (14-5) and Beslan Isaev (23-6) each were on target for their fight. Halmi was 170 pounds on the button, while Isaev came in at 168.8. Halmi, from Hungary, will be looking to snap a two-fight skid in his Cage Warriors debut. Isaev, a Russian whose resume includes wins over the likes of Alexander Shlemenko, Xavier Foupa-Pokam and fellow Cage Warriors 58 fighter Pavel Kusch, has won four straight and six of his past seven.

In the co-main event, Michal Andryszak (9-3), from Poland, takes on unbeaten Ion Cutelaba (4-0) in a heavyweight bout. Cutelaba has three of his four wins in 42 seconds or less, but Andryszak will have more than a 20-pound weight advantage in the fight.

Kusch (13-4), from the Ukraine, returns to Cage Warriors for the first time since a TKO loss to Chris Fields in September 2012. That fight was Cage Warriors’ middleweight tournament final, so Kusch will be looking to get back on track with the promotion. Scott looks to rebound from a loss in his Cage Warriors debut to Mats Nilsson in April. Both middleweights were on target with Kusch coming in at 185.5 pounds and Scott 185.3.
