Since Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson didn’t get to fight at UFC on Fox 5, they’ll face off instead at UFC 157 in Anaheim.
Sources close to the fighters confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that Schaub and Johnson have verbally agreed to the Feb. 23 date for their fight, although bout agreements have not been issued for the contest.
The two heavyweights were supposed to be a part of last weekend’s UFC on Fox 5 card, but Johnson suffered a pulled groin just a week away from fight time, so the bout had to be scrapped.
Luckily, Johnson’s injury wasn’t too severe and the two fighters will now face off just a couple of months later than expected at UFC 157 in California.
The bout’s new date was initially reported by MMAJunkie.com.
