Bellator MMA's 'Fight Master' moving to Thursdays at 11 p.m. ET/PT

fight-master-coaches.jpgThe final three episodes in the debut season of Bellator MMA’s reality show, “Fight Master,” are moving from Wednesday to Thursday, officials today announced.

The one-hour show will air at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Spike TV, an hour later than its usual 10 p.m. ET/PT slot.

An exact reason wasn’t given for the move, which officials announced earlier today, but the show will benefit from a lead-in of “TNA Impact Wrestling,” which airs from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT.

The move comes a week after the show reportedly drew just 398,000 viewers, its weakest showing of the season. The show debuted with 432,000 viewers on June 19 and reached its peak with episode No. 3, which averaged 676,000 viewers.

The show, which has garnered mostly positive reviews during its two-month run, uses a tournament format made popular by the UFC’s long-running reality show, “The Ultimate Fighter.” However, rather than two coaches, “Fight Master” has four: notables Greg Jackson, Joe Warren, Frank Shamrock and Randy Couture. Additionally, if victorious in an elimination round of fights, competitors then picked their own coaches instead of being drafted onto teams.

The show features a mixture of prospects and veterans, who are fighting for a tournament title and spots on Bellator’s roster, which currently boasts nearly 200 fighters. The show concludes with a live finale on Sept. 7 at Bellator 98, which also airs on Spike TV.
