Friday’s Bellator 138 event features a main-card bonanza of mismatches (according to the current betting lines, anyway), but when it comes to the Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson vs. Ken Shamrock headliner, things are a bit closer in the MMAjunkie staff picks.
In the heavyweight main event, which airs on Spike TV from St. Louis’ Scottrade Center, Slice (4-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) is a nearly 3-1 favorite over Shamrock (28-15-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA). But three of our nine editors, writers and radio hosts are picking the MMA trailblazer over the former bareknuckle brawler.
Elsewhere on the card, it was a clean sweep with our picks, with featherweight champion Patricio Freire (23-2 MMA, 11-2 BMMA) a 9-0 pick over Daniel Weichel (35-8 MMA, 4-0 BMMA).
The same is true for the other main-card bouts: ex-lightweight champion Michael Chandler (12-3 MMA, 9-3 BMMA) over Derek Campos (15-4 MMA, 4-2 BMMA), former featherweight titleholder Daniel Straus (22-6 MMA, 9-3 BMMA) over Henry Corrales (12-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), and heavyweight Bobby Lashley (12-2 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) over Dan Charles (9-2 MMA, 2-1 BMMA).
Check out all the picks above. Additionally, leave your main-card picks below. As usual, MMAjunkie reader “IAMMA” is organizing the MMAjunkie Member Picks, where “Jack” and “Sam De Santis” are our leaders.
