Bellator 103 weigh-in results: Featherweight tourney fighters hit marks

Bellator 103 weigh-ins are in the books, and all competitors today successfully made weight.

Bellator 103 takes place Friday at Kansas Star Arena at Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, just south of Wichita. The main card airs on Spike TV after prelims at Spike.com.

The event features the semifinal round of the Season 9 featherweight tournament, which now includes Patricio Freire vs. Fabricio Guerreiro and Joe Taimanglo vs. Justin Wilcox. All four tourney fighters were on their marks for Friday’s card.

The card also features a light heavyweight fight between Mikhail Zayats and Aaron Rosa, plus a lightweight fight between recent title challenger David Rickels and J.J. Ambrose. Rickels will be the home crowd favorite fighting in his home state, and also is favored with the oddsmakers, checking in as more than a 5-to-1 favorite.

“Every fight I go in looking to put on an outstanding fight,” Rickels said. “But this is my hometown and I’m trying to set this place off. In honor of Halloween, I want to punch J.J. so hard it shoots his hair straight up like Frankenstein.”
