It will likely be a win or go home situation for two bantamweights meeting at UFC Fight Night: Shields vs. Ellenberger in September.
American Top Team fighter Ken Stone will meet Donny Walker in a bout at 135lbs on the undercard for the upcoming show in New Orleans.
UFC officials announced the new bout on Sunday.
Despite strong starts in two fights under the Zuffa banner, Ken Stone has come up short in both efforts.
Stone lost his first fight in the WEC after being slammed viciously to the mat by Eddie Wineland. That followed up with a great beginning to his fight with former title contender Scott Jorgensen, before having some nasty ground and pound unleashed on him to finish that fight back in June.
A win is almost the only way to guarantee Stone keeps his job with the UFC, so he’ll try to move in that direction when he faces Ohioan Donny Walker.
Walker made his impromptu UFC debut earlier this month at UFC 132 losing a decision to Jeff Hougland. Taking the fight on less than 2 weeks notice, Walker definitely had his moments in the fight, but came up short and will now have a full training camp to prepare for his 2nd appearance in the Octagon.
Stone and Walker meet on the undercard for the UFC Fight Night card headed for New Orleans on Sept 17.
