With Anderson Silva set to go in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission tomorrow for his hearing on his failed UFC 183 drug tests it appears we now know what the MMA legend’s defense will be.

Silva (34-6 MMA, 17-2 UFC) – the No. 13 ranked fighter in the NOS Energy Drink MMA middleweight rankings – has been out of action since the event, which saw him win a unanimous decision over Nick Diaz.

Brazilian outlet Combate reported that the Silva camp has sent their response to the complaint and cited, among other tainted supplements, a tainted sexual performance product.

“Silva was administering or using a supplement for the purpose of enhancing sexual performance,” the response reads, “testing of the supplement revealed that the supplement was contaminated with an Exogenous Anabolic Agent: Drostanolone Metabolite. The contaminated supplement is the cause of the presence of the Exogenous Anabolic Agent – Drostanolone Metabolite in Silva’s urine.”

The response also lays out that other supplements that were tested which “could have been tainted.”

In addition, Silva’s failure for oxazepam and temazepam, medications used to treat anxiety and insomnia, respectively, was addressed.

“Silva affirmatively alleges that he administered or used one or more prohibited Benzodiazepines before the Contest because he was anxious and could not sleep the night before the Contest,” the statement reads.

The NSAC hearing is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET tomorrow, with Silva as the No. 20 item on the agenda.
