Antonio McKee vs. Lewis Gonzalez targeted for WSOF 4

antonio-mckee-1.jpgA lightweight bout between big-show veteran Antonio McKee (28-5-2) and undefeated Lewis Gonzalez (8-0) is the latest addition to the World Series of Fighting 4 lineup.

Gonzalez’s manager, Dave Hirschbein of MMAGOLD, confirmed the bout with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). The organization hasn’t made an official announcement.

WSOF 4 takes place Aug. 10 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. The main card airs on NBC Sports Network.

It’s not clear where McKee vs. Gonzalez will be placed on the lineup.

McKee recently was on a 17-1-1 run, and the lone defeat came via split decision to Jacob Volkmann at UFC 125. The IFL and MFC vet, though, most recently fought in December and submitted to a big Shinya Aoki punch at DREAM.18. It marked his first stoppage loss in more than a decade.

Gonzalez, meanwhile, is a two-time state high-school wrestling champion who made his pro MMA debut in September 2011. Since then, the 25-year-old has posted seven stoppages (five submissions) in eight career wins. Most recently, Gonzalez earned a decision victory over undefeated Emmanuel Sanchez at a May 3 regional show in California. Prior to that, he knocked out Bobby Stack (8-2 at the time) back in October.
