Craig on Thursday announced his withdrawal via social media, reportedly as a result of tonsillitis, according to Fighters Only.
“[This is the first] time I've ever had to pull [out] from a fight and it doesn't feel too good,” Craig wrote on Twitter. “Sorry to the fans, the UFC and Chris Camozzi. Huge thanks to the UFC for taking such good care of me. [I] hope to get this fight rescheduled stateside!”
Craig, 28, rattled off eight straight victories to begin his career, posting back-to-back wins over Kyle Noke and Rafael Natal to begin his UFC run before losing two of his next three. “Highlight” most recently competed last October, when he was submitted by British talent Luke Barnatt at UFC Fight Night 30.
Camozzi, 27, earned four consecutive Octagon victories from January 2012 to March 2013 but has since lost back-to-back bouts, first submitting to a Ronaldo Souza arm-triangle choke before dropping a unanimous decision to Lorenz Larkin last November at UFC Fight Night 31.
