According to the governing body's official results, the vast majority of the fighters received 10-day suspensions, with only five men receiving longer orders of inactivity. The cause behind the suspensions have not been released by the TDLR.
Undercard competitor Conor Heun (pictured) received the longest suspension of the bunch, as the lightweight will have to sit on the sidelines until Aug. 28 following a hard-fought victory over Magno Almeida in which his elbow was dislocated in an armbar attempt. Also receiving a considerable suspension was Justin Wilcox, who suffered an accidental eye poke in the second round of his lightweight contest with Gesias Cavalcante. The bout was ruled a no-decision, and Wilcox must sit out until Aug. 3.
Additionally, Joe Ray was suspended until July 28 following his loss to Nah-Shon Burrell, while K.J. Noons and Valentijn Overeem must each sit out until July 19 after suffering defeats to Jorge Masvidal and Chad Griggs, respectively.
Headlined by a lackluster heavyweight tournament quarterfinal bout between reigning champion Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum, the event emanated from the American Airlines Center and aired on Showtime and HDNet. Both Overeem and Werdum received 10-day suspensions.
